For the 2021 Defender model, the 110's model lineup has been revised, introducing the latest 3.0-liter inline-six Ingenium diesel engine (MHEV), which produces a maximum output of 221kW/300ps and a maximum torque of 650Nm. Additionally, new grades have been added: the top-of-the-line "X" and the "X-Dynamic," which features exterior and interior styling that emphasizes the Defender's toughness and dynamism.
In terms of safety, driver assistance systems popular in the Japanese market, such as Blind Spot Assist, Clear Exit Monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver Condition Monitor, Lane Keep Assist, 360° Parking Aid, Rear Traffic Monitor, and Traffic Sign Recognition & Adaptive Speed Limiter, are standard equipment.
Furthermore, by providing a dedicated communication data plan with the Online Pack, users can now enjoy connected apps such as music, weather, and calendars, as well as access facility information, gas prices, and map data, without worrying about data usage, all within a smooth and comfortable communication environment.
The options have also been reviewed. A "Family Pack" has been introduced, which bundles all necessary equipment when selecting the third-row seats. Additionally, an ionizer with a PM2.5 filter has been newly added. Notably, the fabric roof is now available as an option for the 110 as well.
A new body color, "Hakuba Silver," inspired by the powder snow of Hakuba Village in Nagano Prefecture, has been added, bringing the total selection to 10 colors.
The new Defender offers the most diverse personalization options in Land Rover's history. Including four accessory packs tailored to different themes (EXPLORER PACK, ADVENTURE PACK, COUNTRY PACK, URBAN PACK) and incorporating features and functions, customers can create their ideal vehicle from approximately 170 accessories according to their purpose and preferences. For the 2021 model, "Curated Specs" are also available for the Japanese market, with seven variations offered.
The Defender 90 comes in five variations, from the 2-liter inline-four gasoline P300 (5.29 million yen) to the P300 First Edition (7.45 million yen). The 110 offers four variations of the 2-liter inline-four gasoline P300 (6.19 million yen) to P300 First Edition (8.26 million yen), three variations of the 3-liter inline-six diesel D300 S (7.54 million yen) to D300 X (11.24 million yen), and seven variations of Curated Specs, from the 90 with fabric seats (5,575,000 yen) to the 110 D300 with leather seats and 7-seat configuration (9,663,000 yen).
