Reservations Open for the Macan's Top Grade, the "Macan Turbo"
On October 1st (Tuesday), Porsche Japan began accepting reservations for the "Macan Turbo," the top model of the compact SUV "Macan."
Displacement Reduced, Power Increased by 10% to 440ps
The new Macan will introduce its top model, the "Macan Turbo," to Japan.
The powertrain features a 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. While the displacement has been reduced by 20 percent compared to the previous generation, the maximum output has been increased by 10 percent to 324kW (440ps). Maximum torque is 550Nm. Power is delivered to all four wheels via a 7-speed PDK transmission. With the optional Sport Chrono Package, the 0-100 km/h acceleration is 4.3 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the previous model. The top speed is 270 km/h.
The Macan Turbo comes standard with Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB). The brake discs are coated with tungsten carbide, which Porsche claims results in faster response, less wear, and up to 90 percent less brake dust compared to conventional cast-iron brakes. The vehicle is equipped with 20-inch wheels.
The Macan Turbo features a unique front apron with three large air intakes and LED headlights. The specially developed fixed roof spoiler with a double-wing design is an item exclusive to the Turbo model.
The interior is equipped with smooth leather-finished trim and adaptive sports seats with 18-way electric adjustment and a memory package. The Porsche Communication Management with a networked 10.9-inch full HD touchscreen and the 14-speaker BOSE surround sound system are also available, creating a highly convenient and comfortable interior space.
The exact release date in Japan is yet to be determined. The price will be 12,191,667 yen.
