Maserati Announces New SUV, the Grecale

On March 22, Maserati unveiled the new SUV, the Grecale, with the concept of "The Every day Exceptional."

Expected Price in Japan: Upper ¥8 million (incl. tax)

The Grecale measures 4,846mm in length, 1,670mm in height, and 2,163mm in width (including wing mirrors), with a wheelbase of 2,901mm and a rear track of 1,948mm (GT version; the Trofeo is even larger). In terms of size, it is one class smaller than the current SUV, the Levante.
At launch, three versions will be available: the "GT" with a 300ps 4-cylinder mild-hybrid engine, the "Modena" with a 330ps 4-cylinder mild-hybrid engine, and the powerful "Trofeo" with a 530ps 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine based on Maserati's proprietary Nettuno engine found in the MC20. A year later, the all-electric "Grecale Folgore" with a 400V 100% electric powertrain will be added, completing the lineup.
Performance figures for the Trofeo include a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 285 km/h.
The exterior features design cues common to all new Maserati models since the MC20, including a low, imposing front grille, a beautifully flowing side profile, and distinctive boomerang-shaped taillights inspired by the Giugiaro 3200 GT.
The cabin is equipped with Maserati's largest-ever 12.3-inch central touchscreen, an 8.8-inch display for other controls, and a third display for the rear seats, all operated by touch. The traditional analog clock has been digitized and can transform into an in-car concierge via voice control.
The in-car experience is managed by the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system, state-of-the-art infotainment, and Maserati Connect. The cabin is elevated to the pinnacle of enjoyment through Maserati's signature roar and an immersive Sonus faber 3D sound system offering an all-around audio experience. The Sonus faber audio system includes 14 speakers as standard at the premium level, and 21 speakers at the high-premium level if required.
Development took place at the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena, with production handled by the Cassino plant. The expected price in Japan is from the upper ¥8 million range (incl. tax), with orders opening around early June. Delivery in Japan is scheduled for early 2023.
