Up to 756 km Range on a Single Charge

Audi is in the process of expanding its model range, changing model names so that BEVs use even numbers and internal combustion engines use odd numbers. The newly announced A6 e-tron follows this convention. The current A6 engine models are scheduled to transition to the A7.
The new A6 e-tron, bearing Audi's BEV-specific name "e-tron," will be available as a hatchback "Sportback" and a station wagon "Avant." It embodies Audi's new design philosophy.
The exterior is characterized by a clean body design, with slim daytime running lights accentuating the A6 e-tron's distinctive front.
The platform is the PPE platform for the upper-midsize segment, jointly developed with Porsche, following the Audi Q6 e-tron electric SUV. This marks the first model to adopt a flat-floor concept.
The low, powerful-looking body forms the foundation. The Sportback achieves a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.21, while the Avant records an excellent 0.24.
Another key feature of the A6 e-tron is its long range. Combining highly efficient electric motors with newly developed lithium-ion batteries for the PPE platform, it achieves a maximum range of 756 km for the Sportback and 720 km for the Avant on a single charge with a total capacity of 100 kWh.
The A6 e-tron has a system output of 270 kW, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 210 km/h. Initially, only rear-wheel-drive models will be available.
The high-performance S6 e-tron boasts a system output of 370 kW, or 405 kW with launch control, and features all-wheel drive. Its top speed is 240 km/h, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds. The Sportback offers a maximum range of 675 km, and the Avant up to 647 km.
Charging is rapid, with an estimated 310 km of range added in just 10 minutes at an optimal charging station. Charging from 10% to 80% capacity takes only 21 minutes. Furthermore, regenerative braking contributes to the extended range.
The interior is notable for its extensive use of digital devices. The driver-oriented MMI panorama display comprises a 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch MMI display. A 10.9-inch MMI front passenger display is also provided for the co-pilot.
With the active privacy mode, the front passenger can watch movies or stream content without distracting the driver. The system can also adjust content visibility based on speed and seat occupancy.

The optional panoramic glass roof features smart glass technology, which can be switched to opaque with the press of a button, potentially mitigating glare from direct summer sunlight.
The safety equipment includes the new Active Driving Assistant Plus, which supports acceleration, braking, and lane keeping, enhancing comfort on long journeys.
Orders for the new A6 e-tron will begin in Germany in September 2024. Launch timing and pricing for Japan have yet to be announced.
