Groupe PSA Japan has introduced the "Opéra Inspiration," its most luxurious interior option, for the "Chic Grand" upper grade of the DS Automobiles compact SUV, the DS3 Crossback. Concurrently, fuel efficiency has been improved across all grades.

The latest interior, "Opéra Inspiration," has been added to the DS3 Crossback, which first arrived in Japan in June 2019.

The "Opéra" option, available exclusively for the "Chic Grand" upper grade, features Nappa leather seats crafted in DS's signature watchstrap design. Furthermore, the dashboard and door trims are adorned with art-finish leather, treated with a patina (uneven dyeing) and complemented by traditional "pearl top stitching."

The dashboard features a diamond motif and meter panel graphics reminiscent of Art Deco, a style that dominated the world in the 1920s. The center console switches, engraved with the traditional "Clous de Paris" hobnail pattern mimicking Parisian cobblestones, also gleam as an accent.

With the introduction of the "Opéra" package, the powertrain remains unchanged – a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine producing a maximum output of 96kW (130ps) and peak torque of 230Nm. However, engine management software has been improved for all grades. Fuel efficiency has increased from 16.9km/ℓ to 20.9km/ℓ in JC08 mode and from 15.9km/ℓ to 18.2km/ℓ in WLTC mode. Consequently, it meets the 2020 fuel economy standards, reducing the automobile environmental performance tax rate from 2% to 1%.

Additionally, for the "Chic Grand," the two-tone roof color has been changed from the conventional Noir Onyx (black) to Noir Perla Nera (pearl black). Grip Control, which optimizes driving force and braking force according to road conditions, has also been added, enhancing its SUV functionality.

Pricing starts at ¥3,636,000 for the entry-level "So Chic" grade and ¥4,160,000 for the upper "Chic Grand" grade. The newly introduced interior package, "Opéra Inspiration," is priced at ¥300,000.
