Audi Adds the "50" with a 71kWh Battery Capacity to its Electric e-tron Series

On January 13, Audi Japan announced the addition of the Audi "e-tron," an SUV type, to its e-tron electric vehicle series, and that it would begin sales on the same day with the addition of the "50" grade, featuring a 71kWh battery capacity, to the e-tron and e-tron Sportback models.

0-100km/h Acceleration in 6.8 Seconds, 316km Range on a Full Charge

The Audi e-tron Sportback was characterized by Audi's signature flowing coupe-like roofline. The e-tron announced this time, however, features an SUV-like roofline that prioritizes luggage space, and with its generous 4.9-meter body length, its high utility performance is a key selling point. Luggage capacity has increased to 660 liters, compared to the Sportback's 616 liters (measured by VDA standards).
The newly added e-tron 50 quattro and e-tron Sportback 50 quattro have a battery capacity of 71kWh and produce a system output of 230kW/540Nm. They achieve 0-100km/h acceleration in 6.8 seconds and have a driving range of 316km on a full charge (measured by WLTC). Their curb weights are 2,400kg and 2,410kg, respectively, compared to the 2,560kg of the e-tron Sportback 55 quattro 1st edition, achieving a weight reduction of over 150kg.

Adaptive air suspension, which contributes not only to comfort and driving dynamics but also to aerodynamic performance, is standard on all models. The advanced virtual exterior mirrors continue to be available as an option. While the battery module shares the same basic structure for the "55" and "50" models, the "55" achieved a large capacity of 95kWh by using a partially "two-story" structure for the cell modules.
The e-tron 50 is available in three grades: "base," "advanced," and "S line," priced at 9.33 million yen, 10.69 million yen, and 11.08 million yen, respectively. The e-tron Sportback 50 is available only in the "S line" grade for 11.43 million yen. The e-tron 50 models offer tax benefits of approximately 300,000 yen, with subsidies available for clean energy vehicle introduction: 232,000 yen for the e-tron and 236,000 yen for the e-tron Sportback 50.
