625hp M-Tuned 4.4-Liter V8 Soft-Top Model

The BMW M8 Convertible is an open-top model based on the new BMW M8, designed for both serious track driving and public road use. It features a multi-layered, powered soft-top made of high-quality fabric, which can be opened or closed in 15 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h.

The exterior is described as a notched coupe style with a distinct step when the roof is closed, and when open, the soft top stows away, emphasizing the dynamic lines of the body side and the elegant harmony with the interior. M-specific features include the double-bar kidney grille and M gills on the side air breathers. The rear luggage capacity remains 350 liters, whether the top is open or closed.

The M-tuned 4.4-liter V8 engine with cross-bank twin-turbo technology, mounted in the M8 Convertible's long nose, produces a maximum output of 600 ps (441 kW) at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 750 Nm between 1,800 and 5,600 rpm. The high-performance M8 Convertible Competition variant features a more highly tuned V8 with extremely stiff engine mounts connecting to the chassis, enabling a maximum output of 625 ps (460 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 5,860 rpm, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
The intelligent all-wheel-drive system, BMW M xDrive, distributes torque variably and continuously between the front and rear axles, optimizing traction as needed for everything from sporty driving on stable surfaces to navigating changing road conditions. In the M8 Convertible models, the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is set to intervene only in extreme situations, allowing virtually all generated energy to be converted into forward propulsion without waste.

The "M Mode" button on the center console, a feature of M models, includes a "TRACK" mode that deactivates all comfort and safety functions of the driver assistance systems. Additionally, the M-specific integrated brake system, with two pedal mode settings, is standard equipment.

Pricing starts at 23.38 million yen for the M8 Convertible and 25.41 million yen for the M8 Convertible Competition (both including 10% consumption tax). Left- and right-hand drive options are available, with deliveries scheduled to begin in December of this year.
