12V Mild Hybrid System Also Featured on Non-S Models

The A4 series, comprising the "A4 Sedan," the station wagon "A4 Avant," the high-performance "S4 Sedan" and "S4 Avant," and the crossover model "A4 allroad quattro," has received a significant minor model change.
The A4, which underwent a full model change to its fifth generation in 2016, now features a significantly refreshed exterior. Improvements extend to the door panels, and all models now come with blister fenders, increasing the overall width by 5mm, marking substantial changes.
The interior's infotainment system has also been refined, with the center screen now a touchscreen to enhance usability, contributing to a simpler and cleaner cockpit design.
Additionally, assistance systems have been enhanced, including Audi pre sense city with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist.
The A4 Sedan and A4 Avant are available in new entry-level "base" trims, as well as "advanced" and "S line" specifications. All models are powered by a 2-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine, with differing peak outputs: the "35 TFSI" producing 110kW (150ps) and the "45 TFSI" generating 183kW (249ps).
Both of these also feature a mild hybrid drive system (MHEV) utilizing a belt-driven alternator starter (BAS) and a 12V lithium-ion battery. The transmission is a more efficient 7-speed S tronic. This system enhances energy recuperation and contributes to fuel efficiency and a comfortable driving experience by completely shutting off the engine during coasting.
Audi S4 Sedan & Avant
The high-performance S4 Sedan and S4 Avant feature slits at the front of the hood, reminiscent of classic Audi quattro models, and boast a more aggressive and refined look with dedicated designs for the front and rear bumpers, air inlets, and side sills. 19-inch alloy wheels are standard.
The interior is enhanced with carbon atlas decorative panels and dedicated sports seats for a sporty ambiance. The powertrain consists of a 3-liter V6 turbo engine producing 260kW (354ps) and 500Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic and quattro system. Furthermore, an S sport chassis with a lower ride height than the base A4 and damping control S sport suspension contribute to agile handling.
Audi A4 allroad quattro
The "A4 allroad quattro," equipped with features like wheel arch trims and underbody protection, now has a 15mm wider track at both the front and rear. The ground clearance has been increased by 50mm, and an off-road mode has been added to the Audi drive select dynamic handling system.
The powertrain includes a 2-liter gasoline turbo engine producing 183kW (249ps) with MHEV, paired with a 7-speed S tronic. Standard equipment now includes LED headlights, virtual cockpit, and heated seats.
Pricing starts at 4.55 million yen for the A4 and 4.84 million yen for the A4 Avant. The S4 is priced at 8.95 million yen, the S4 Avant at 9.24 million yen, and the A4 allroad quattro at 6.34 million yen.
