Audi Launches the SQ2, a High-Performance Version of the Compact Q2 SUV
On February 7, Audi Japan introduced the new "SQ2," a high-performance sports version of the compact SUV Q2 equipped with a quattro all-wheel-drive system, and began sales the same day.

The Q2 series is the smallest in Audi's Q range, characterized by its distinctive and contrasting interior and exterior design. It combines comfort and utility comparable to the class above, while maintaining a body size of under 1.8m in width and 1.55m in height, allowing it to fit into urban multi-story car parks. This premium compact SUV underwent its first minor change since its debut last year.
The SQ2, announced this time, is the high-performance sports version within the Q2 series that uniquely features the quattro all-wheel-drive system. This system, utilizing an electronically controlled hydraulic multi-plate clutch, is said to achieve stable acceleration, sporty cornering, and high driving stability even on snow or in adverse weather conditions.
The powertrain combines a 2.0 TFSI inline-four turbo engine producing a maximum output of 300 ps and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, with a 7-speed S tronic transmission. Progressive steering, which varies the gear ratio according to steering input, and dedicated S sport suspension contribute to its dynamic driving performance.
The exterior features an S model-exclusive multi-faceted singleframe grille and aluminum-look door mirrors. It is also equipped with a dedicated roof spoiler, quad tailpipes, and 18-inch alloy wheels. With the optional Black styling package, the singleframe grille, Audi rings, door mirrors, and C-pillars are finished in black, achieving an even more assertive look.
The interior is predominantly black, featuring S logo sports seats. An optional SQ2 interior design package is available, offering choices such as magma red fine Nappa leather.
Driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise assist, side assist, Audi pre sense basic, and high-beam assist, available as package options. The price is 6.08 million yen.
