The Japanese introduction of the "GTS," the sportiest grade of the Porsche Macan announced at the end of 2019, has finally begun taking orders.
The "GTS," which stands for Gran Turismo Sport, is powered by a 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine that produces a maximum output of 280kW (380ps) – an increase of 15kW (20ps) – and a torque of 520Nm, 20Nm more than the previous generation. It uses a 7-speed PDK transmission.
Combined with the newly developed PDK and the optional Sport Chrono Package, the 0-100km/h acceleration time is reduced by 0.3 seconds to 4.7 seconds, and the top speed is 261km/h.
In addition, it features 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels and large-diameter brake discs. The Japanese specification model also includes safety features such as adaptive cruise control and lane change assist.
The price is ¥10,388,889, and the domestic release date is yet to be determined. An announcement will be made once it is decided.
