A GT Sports Car Inheriting 911 GT3 Technology

The "Cayman GT4," which will have its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show opening Tuesday, March 3rd, isthe second-generationmodelCaymanreleased at the end of 2012, serving as the base for this high-performance model. Its position, undoubtedly, is to the 911 what theGT3is to the Cayman, inheriting much of Porsche's accumulated technology and developed as a machine more adept at circuit driving.

The engine is a 3.8-liter flat-six derived from the "911 Carrera S," delivering a maximum output of 283 kW (385 ps). It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission featuring dynamic gearbox mounts. Furthermore, the chassis, lowered by 30 mm, and the large brake system largely adopt components from the 911 GT3.

The exterior is characterized by large front air intakes and a fixed rear wing, which for the first time on a Cayman generates downforce on both front and rear axles, optimizing aerodynamics for circuit driving. It achieves 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 295 km/h. On the Nürburgring Nordschleife, it recorded a lap time of 7 minutes and 40 seconds, which Porsche states is the fastest time in its segment.

The interior features sports seats trimmed in a combination of leather and Alcantara. A newly developed sports steering wheel is also equipped. For more demanding sporty driving, optional features such as ceramic composite brakes, carbon fiber reinforced plastic full bucket seats, and a clubsport package are available.

The Cayman GT4's fuel consumption is 10.3 ℓ/100km (approximately 9.7 km/ℓ) in the European combined cycle (NEDC). The steering is available in both left-hand and right-hand drive configurations, with the price in Japan set at 10.64 million yen.
