An Open-Top V12 Model Cherished by North American Ferraristi
A party was held in Los Angeles to celebrate 60 years of Ferrari's presence in the American market. This event brought together 1,000 Ferraris, including historically significant models, and featured the unveiling of the 60th-anniversary limited edition 'F60 America' as its centerpiece.
The much-anticipated F60 America pays homage to Luigi Chinetti, the founder of Ferrari in North America, and his NART (North American Racing Team), who first imported the high-performance Ferrari '375 Plus' in 1954.
Chinetti, who won the post-war 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1949 with Ferrari in their debut appearance, subsequently acquired the Ferrari distribution rights in the United States and became the world's top Ferrari dealer for a time. He also founded NART, which had close ties with Scuderia Ferrari, and achieved great success in sports car races worldwide, including Le Mans, during the 1960s and 70s.
The F60 America, unveiled for the first time, combines the front-engined V12, long beloved by North American Ferraristi, with an open-top configuration that is also favored in America. The base model is the "F12 Berlinetta". While it is a special edition, the mechanics remain unchanged from the F12, including the 6,262cc V12 engine producing 740 hp. Nevertheless, its 3.1-second acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is surely more than enough.

Production Numbers Also Pay Respect to the Past
The true essence of this model lies in its complete bespoke nature, akin to the 'special Ferraris' of the 1950s and 60s, and its appearance, which sets it apart from the base F12.
The front features Ferrari's traditional grille design, with chrome accents extending to the air intakes that cool the brakes. It also boasts beautiful roll bars finished in carbon and leather, with the open configuration being the default. In essence, it's a 'barchetta,' but it comes with a lightweight fabric top that can be used at speeds up to 120 km/h.
As a barchetta, the interior, which catches the eye from the outside, is also meticulously crafted. The cockpit adopts an asymmetrical design inspired by historic Ferrari racing sports cars like the '375 MM' and '250 Testa Rossa,' divided into a vibrant red driver's area and a chic black-themed passenger area.
The body color is 'Blu NART,' the traditional color of NART, serving as the image color. Additionally, special 'Cavallino Rampante' badges commemorating Ferrari's 60th anniversary in North America are adorned on the front wheel arches and the cockpit's center tunnel, with every detail meticulously finished.
This captivating F60 America is, naturally, a limited edition with only 10 units produced. Its origin pays homage to the '275 GTB/4 NART Spider,' specially ordered by Chinetti from Enzo Ferrari for American clients like Steve McQueen and produced in 1967.275 GTB/4 NART SpiderThe selling price is said to be $2.5 million, significantly exceeding that of the "LaFerrari", but rumors suggest it sold out immediately upon announcement.
The existence of this car evokes the 'bond' that America and Ferrari have forged over 60 years.
