The Fastest Golf GTI Ever
The 'GTI' designation, a hallmark of sporty Golf models throughout its history, has been enhanced by Volkswagen R, the brand's motorsport division, to create a four-wheel-drive'R'model. Excluding the 'R', it has consistently been positioned as the sportiest hot hatch within the front-wheel-drive Golf lineup.
The new 7th generation Golfalso saw the Golf GTI make its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013.GTI World PremiereAt that time, the high-performance 'Golf GTI Performance' was not part of the lineup, but it has now been announced that it will be sold in limited numbers. When the Golf GTI Was Introduced to Japanwas not available in the lineup, but it has now been announced that it will be sold in limited numbers.
The Golf GTI Performance is equipped with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbo engine, delivering a maximum torque of 350Nm,the standard GTIwhich is the same as the standard GTI, but with a 10ps increase in maximum output to 230ps. Of course, the enhancements extend beyond the engine. The car comes standard with a dedicated electronic hydraulic front differential lock for the GTI Performance, which distributes torque between the left and right wheels at a 0-100 percent ratio, adaptive chassis control (DCC), and larger four-wheel ventilated disc brakes: 340x30mm at the front and 310x22mm at the rear.
The iconic plaid seats of the Golf GTIare made of fabric and Alcantara, featuring a sporty design unique to this model. Furthermore, it rides on 225/35R19 tires, two inches larger than those on the standard GTI, further accentuating its low and wide stance.
The latest infotainment system, 'Discover Pro,' is also standard, offering integrated control for ITS spots, DSRC-compatible navigation, smartphone connectivity, and adaptive chassis control (DCC) functions.
A total of 500 units of the Golf GTI Performance will be introduced to Japan.
