Porsche's First Heritage Design Model Pays Homage to Tradition
Porsche Japan has begun accepting reservations for the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition, a limited production run of 992 units, marking the first Heritage Design model.
Homage to the 1950s and 60s Throughout the Interior and Exterior
Based on the Targa 4S, which was unveiled just this May, Porsche introduces its first-ever Heritage Design model.
The "911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition" reinterprets design elements from the 1950s and early 1960s, combining them with the latest technology. The exterior is available in a special Cherry Metallic paint, along with four other exterior colors, and gold logos recreate the style of the 1950s.
Furthermore, it features a spear-shaped element on the front fender, reminiscent of Porsche's early motorsport era, and a Heritage badge on the luggage compartment grille, evoking the badge awarded for driving 100,000 km in a Porsche 356.
Additionally, the original Porsche crest from 1963 adorns the bonnet, steering wheel, and wheel center caps.
The interior also pays homage to tradition, with a two-tone leather scheme as its base, and the adoption of corduroy for the seats and door panels, as used in the Porsche 356, offering a glimpse of the 1950s. A metal emblem on the dashboard trim panel is inscribed with the limited edition number.
The powertrain is the same as the recently introduced eighth-generation 911 Targa 4S, featuring a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing a maximum output of 331 kW (450 PS). Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed PDK transmission. With a top speed of 304 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.6 seconds, it offers performance that belies its retro appearance.
Porsche has announced plans for a total of four Heritage Design models, including the newly released "911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition." Additionally, a Heritage Design Package will be available for the interior of the current 911 models. A limited-edition luxury chronograph, exclusively for purchasers of this collector's model, has also been unveiled.
Production is limited to 992 units, the same as the internal code name for the "911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition," with a price of 26.16 million yen.
