3-Liter Inline-Six Gasoline Model Added

BMW has launched the "840i" and "840i Cabriolet," new additions to its top-tier 8 Series coupe lineup, featuring a 3.0-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine.

Latest Safety and Voice Control Features Standard

The 8 Series reigns as BMW's ultimate luxury car, offering enjoyment from comfortable long drives to dynamic sports driving on the circuit.
The newly added engine is a 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbo gasoline unit, producing a maximum output of 250 kW (340 ps) and peak torque of 500 Nm, driving the rear wheels.

The 840i models introduced this time also come standard with the latest driving assistance systems, enhanced in precision and accuracy by a high-performance three-lens camera, processor, and radar. These include a traffic jam assistant with hands-off function for use in highway congestion, active cruise control, systems that warn of lane changes and departures, and collision avoidance/mitigation braking.

Furthermore, the standard Parking Assistant includes a Reversing Assistant function. This allows the vehicle to remember the route it previously traveled forward for up to 50 meters and accurately retrace that path in reverse.
This feature is said to enable safe and precise return to the original route, for example, when encountering difficulties passing oncoming traffic on the many narrow roads found in Japan.

Additionally, BMW ConnectedDrive, featuring the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant service that allows vehicle operation and information access solely through voice commands utilizing AI technology, is also standard.

Pricing starts at ¥11.93 million for the 840i Coupe and ¥13.19 million for the M Sport version. The 840i Cabriolet is priced at ¥12.92 million, and the M Sport at ¥14.04 million. Deliveries for all models will commence from June onwards.
