The Fastest Range Rover Sport Charges Up Goodwood

Jaguar Land Rover will exhibit the " at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014.Range Rover Sporthigh-performance grade "SVR" at the event. The fastest and most powerful model in Land Rover's production history will make its debut in the hill climb race.

The "Range Rover Sport SVR" is the first model to bear the "SVR" designation, which will be used for future high-performance models from Jaguar and Land Rover. It is a special model engineered by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations division.

While the current top-tier model sold in Japan, the "Range Rover Sport Autobiography Dynamic," is equipped with a 5-liter V8 supercharged engine producing a maximum output of 508ps, the SVR, currently under development, will deliver 550ps. Although the powertrain details are yet to be announced, Jaguar Land Rover describes it as having the highest capabilities in terms of speed, agility, and responsiveness. At Goodwood, they intend to "showcase the most exhilarating exterior and engine sound in Land Rover's history."

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014, a camouflaged test vehicle will run the course in the "First Glance" category of the hill climb race, marking its debut at the hallowed grounds of British motorsport.

Going forward, the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations division is slated to handle special edition vehicles, custom-built models, and heritage products. The first of these, the Range Rover Sport SVR, is scheduled for release in 2015.
