Limited Edition: A Revival of WWII American Military Vehicles

Fiat Chrysler Japan announced on the 13th that it will release a limited edition model of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the "Wrangler Unlimited Freedom Edition," inspired by American military vehicles that were active during World War II. Sales will begin on March 1st (Saturday) with a limited production of 150 units.

"Oscar Mike" Hard Badge and Star Decals Evoke Military Heritage

Jeep traces its roots to a four-wheel-drive vehicle developed in 1940 at the request of the U.S. Army during World War II. Throughout the war, Jeep served as a military vehicle for the Allied forces, and its superior performance and durability became widely recognized, leading to the Jeep of today. To pay homage to these early Jeeps, a special edition vehicle has been introduced, serving as a revival of the American military vehicles used during wartime.

The base model is the "Wrangler Unlimited," the four-door version of the "Wrangler" cross-country vehicle. Its 3.6-liter engine delivers a maximum output of 209 kW (284 ps), ready to handle any driving scenario.

To recreate the atmosphere of that era, the front fenders feature a "Oscar Mike" hard badge, a military term meaning "On the Move," while star decals reminiscent of the American military accent the hood and rear. Inside, the fabric seats are also embroidered with stars and logos, adding to the sense of exclusivity.

The body is available in two popular colors: Black and the special edition Hydro Blue. The price, including 5% consumption tax, is 3,885,000 yen.
