On the 4th, Peugeot Citroën Japan announced the "DS3 Racing Mat Gold," a special color variant of the "DS3 Racing," a specially tuned model of Citroën's three-door hatchback "DS3." Limited to 20 units, sales have now begun.

Striking Exterior with Black and Gold Matte Paint
Following its long-standing participation in the WRC (World Rally Championship), where it has secured 8 manufacturer titles and 9 driver titles, the racing division "Citroën Racing" has developed a racing model with further "exciting" tuning for the avant-garde hatchback model, " DS3" which follows the 2011 release.
The powertrain is based on the 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbo engine for the DS3, with specialized engineering applied to the turbocharger, control unit, and exhaust. It boasts a maximum output of 152kW (207ps) at 6,000rpm, a 33% increase over the DS3, and a maximum torque of 275Nm at 2,000-4,500rpm, an increase of over 15%.
Furthermore, the ride height has been lowered by 10mm, and the tread widened by 30mm. The suspension features dedicated dampers and springs, and the brakes have been enhanced with dedicated 4-piston calipers and larger brake rotors.
The eye-catching exterior adopts a matte paint finish, introduced for the first time in Japan for a Citroën. While matte black forms the base, matte gold, with its unique luster, is used as an accent on the roof, front face, 18-inch alloy wheels, and interior elements such as the dashboard. Carbon fiber parts are also incorporated throughout the exterior and interior, emphasizing its racing character.
The price, including 5% consumption tax, is 3.8 million yen. It is available only in right-hand drive and is limited to just 20 units.
