Nissan Europe Develops JUKE with GT-R Heart
Nissan Europe has announced that it is developing the JUKE R, a JUKE compact SUV transplanted with the GT-R's powertrain.

The JUKE R, whose development was announced by Nissan Europe, is, as its name suggests, a sports model of the JUKE. However, it is no mere sports model. It is a GT-R in JUKE's clothing, transplanted with many of the GT-R's mechanisms, including its engine, 4WD system, and transmission.
While the specifications of the GT-R's 3.8-liter twin-turbo are not yet public, it is likely that some detuning has been done. Although slightly modified, the system that transmits power to the front and rear wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and propeller shaft is the same as the GT-R's. Even the Brembo brakes and RAYS 20-inch forged aluminum wheels are the same as the GT-R's.
The exterior is considerably more aggressive than the standard JUKE. The widely flared front and rear fenders, and the enlarged front and rear spoilers and bumpers, designed with aerodynamics in mind, indicate that this car is no ordinary vehicle.
The interior has also been adjusted to fit the JUKE's size, but it follows the GT-R's image. Dials, the 7-inch LCD display, and meters are the same as those used in the GT-R. Furthermore, it features bucket seats that meet FIA safety standards, a roll cage, and 5-point seatbelts for the front seats.
According to Nissan Europe, the JUKE R is a one-off model, but it will be built to be road-legal. It is also intended to gauge market reaction to a sports model of the JUKE.
Development progress of the JUKE R, which is scheduled for completion in November, can be followed on its official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NissanJukeOfficial).
