The New Esprit, Powered by a Lexus IS-F Unit
Lotus Cars unveiled a prototype of the new "Esprit" at the Paris Motor Show.

620ps Maximum Output and 0-100km/h in 3.4 Seconds
The Esprit, revived after a six-year hiatus, debuts as a mid-engined two-seater. Its engine is a 5.0-liter V8 gasoline unit supplied by Toyota Motor Corporation. This engine, a supercharged version of the Lexus IS-F unit, delivers a maximum output of 620ps and peak torque of 73.4kgm.
Paired with a 7-speed DCT, it achieves a 0-100km/h acceleration of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h.
Furthermore, the new Esprit will introduce a hybrid model utilizing KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), similar to F1 cars, positioning it as an environmentally conscious supercar.
This new Esprit is scheduled to go on sale in the European market in the spring of 2013. The price in the UK has been announced to start from £110,000 (approximately ¥14.5 million).
