Lotus Elan | The Revival of the Lotus Elan
LOTUS ELAN
A 15-Year Renaissance
Lotus Cars has unveiled a prototype of the "Elan" at the Paris Motor Show.

Equipped with a 4.0-liter V6 supercharger
The first-generation Elan, born in 1962, is a legendary lightweight sports car beloved by enthusiasts worldwide. The second generation, introduced in 1989, suffered from its front-wheel-drive layout, failing to gain popularity, and production ceased in 1995.
After a 15-year hiatus, the reborn Elan makes a dramatic transformation, appearing as a rear-wheel-drive, two-seater sports car with a mid-ship engine layout. It is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 supercharged engine supplied by Toyota Motor Corporation, boasting a maximum output of 450 ps and a peak torque of 47.4 kgm.
A 7-speed DCT transmission is available, with a top speed of 310 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.5 seconds.
Scheduled for release in the European market in autumn 2013, the UK price is announced to start from £75,000 (approximately ¥9.85 million). Its performance and price position it as a direct rival to the Porsche 911. We eagerly await the opportunity to witness its performance firsthand.
