A Glorious History Through the Years

Renault Japon announced the Lutecia Renault Sport Edition Limitee Vingtans, produced to celebrate the Lutecia's 20th anniversary. Sales will commence on September 16 at 14 Renault Sport Specialist dealers nationwide, with a limited production of 30 units.

Since its European launch in 1990, the Renault Lutecia has been sold in over 100 countries, with cumulative sales exceeding 10 million units. It received the European Car of the Year award in 1991 (first generation) and 2006 (third generation). The Lutecia is the only model to have won this prestigious award twice.
Despite its compact size, the Renault Lutecia boasts high collision safety. In 2000, it achieved the first 4-star rating in its class in the collision safety tests conducted by the independent European organization Euro NCAP. In 2005, it earned the highest rating of 5 stars, also a first for the model.

The name "Vingtans" (20 ans) for the Lutecia Renault Sport Edition Limitee Vingtans means "20 years" in French, celebrating its anniversary.
Exclusive features include a white body color with a specially colored two-tone black roof, a large rear wing, a carbon-look center console panel and finishers, and a 20th-anniversary emblem.

Renault offers two types of tuning: "Chassis Sport" and "Chassis Cup." This model adopts the latter suspension, which prioritizes driving performance and has not been previously available in Japan.

Tuning Enhances Already Stable Potential

Specifically, compared to the Chassis Sport, the damper's damping force is increased by 15 percent, and the spring rates for the front and rear are raised by 23 percent and 30 percent, respectively. These suspension modifications improve tuning. Furthermore, the center of gravity is lowered by 7mm, and roll rigidity is increased by 5.5 percent. While the stabilizer remains unchanged, these adjustments are expected to enhance the car's overall balance.
The steering ratio is also reduced by 7.5 percent (from 2.8 turns lock-to-lock to 2.5 turns), contributing to increased steering stability.

Priced at 3.34 million yen, it will be sold exclusively through Renault Sport Specialist dealers.
