Equipped with a V6 SC Engine and Latest Driving Assistance

The "Discovery" announced as the 2014 model replaces the previous 5-liter V8 with a 3-liter V6 supercharged engine, delivering a maximum output of 340ps and a peak torque of 450Nm, achieving downsizing. This is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.



The exterior features redesigned front grilles, bumpers, lamps, and door mirrors. A noticeable change is the relocation of the "LAND ROVER" badging from directly above the front grille to the "DISCOVERY" model name.



In terms of drivetrain, the previous transfer case with a low-range gear has been replaced by a standard single-speed transfer case, resulting in a weight reduction of 20kg. Additionally, the "Rock Crawl" mode of Terrain Response and the 4x4 information display have been removed from the standard equipment. Of course, all these previously standard features can still be selected as options.

New driver assistance features, previously introduced in models like theRange Rover Sport, have been adopted.



These include "Wade Sensing," which warns the driver if the water depth exceeds the vehicle's limit when driving through water; "Blind Spot Monitor," which alerts the driver to approaching vehicles in blind spots; and "Reverse Traffic Detection," which detects potential collisions when reversing out of parking spaces and alerts the driver.

Through engine downsizing and revised equipment, fuel efficiency has been significantly improved from 5.8km/l to 7.4km/l, while prices remain unchanged from the 2013 models: 6.76 million yen for the "SE" and 7.96 million yen for the "HSE."
