Long Wheelbase Model Returns After 20 Years

The long-wheelbase Range Rover model marks its return after a 20-year absence, since the "Range Rover LSE" released from 1992 to 1994. It is said to meet the demand for a vehicle that can replace traditional long-wheelbase saloons or for those seeking the ultimate SUV.

By extending the body shell forward of the rear wheels, rear seat legroom is increased by 140mm compared to the conventional standard-wheelbase model. The "Passenger Seat Away" function, which allows the front passenger seat to be slid forward from the rear seats, creates additional space and comfort for rear occupants. Furthermore, electric side door blinds and a panoramic sunroof are standard equipment, and a distinctive "L" badge is fitted behind the front wheel arches on both sides. The luggage space is also expanded in line with the extended body size.

The rear seats can be selected as either a bench seat or two "Executive Class" seats. When "Executive Class" seats are chosen, the rear seats can be reclined to a more relaxed angle of 17 degrees, compared to the 9 degrees of the standard-wheelbase model.

The long-wheelbase model is available for the "Range Rover Vogue," "Vogue SE," "Autobiography," and the "Autobiography Black" model, which will be discussed later.

New Flagship Model Offers Enhanced Rear Seat Comfort

The "Autobiography Black," a more luxuriously equipped version of the Range Rover's top-tier "Autobiography" model, has been added. The "Executive Class" seats offered in this model are described by Land Rover as "the ultimate luxury rear seats combining comfort and functionality." This package, befitting a flagship model, features electrically adjustable individual seats and a large center console redesigned specifically for this model, creating a superior rear seat environment.

The rear seats are equipped with lumbar massage and electric reclining functions. In the long-wheelbase model, a "calf rest" is provided for leg support. The center console houses an electrically operated table covered in black leather, with built-in USB charging sockets and cup holders. Additionally, the cooler box includes extra storage space for glasses and bottles, offering an exceptionally well-appointed experience.

Features include leather-finished pillars, a satin-finish tailgate with stainless steel accents, and illuminated tread plates at the foot of the doors that reveal the "Autobiography Black" lettering. Furthermore, an LED mood lighting system, adjustable in 10 stages, illuminates the door handles, storage compartments, footwells, and the edges of the wood trim on the center console surface, collectively creating an ambiance befitting a flagship.

In addition, this exclusive model features special badges with black enamel and chrome finishes, and two new gloss-finished wheel options, 21-inch or 22-inch, specifically designed for the Autobiography Black, enhance its stance.

The long-wheelbase model will be unveiled at theLA Auto Show, while the Autobiography Black will debut at the Dubai Motor Show starting November 5th. Sequential deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2014.
