Automatic Tailgate Now Standard
The X3 isBMWa model positioned between the X1 and X5 in BMW's SUV lineup. The current generation is the second, which underwent a full model change in 2011. In Japan, it is available in four variations: gasoline engine models including the 'xDrive20i' equipped with a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder twin power turbo, the 'xDrive28i' also with a 2-liter 4-cylinder twin power turbo but with increased output, and the 'xDrive35i' powered by a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, as well as the 'xDrive20d' featuring a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel engine. As the name 'xDrive' suggests, all models are equipped with 4WD.
This equipment enhancement includes the integration of communication functions, recently applied to the 1 Series, 3 Series, and 7 Series, as standard. The 'BMW SOS Call' enables smooth rescue operations by transmitting the situation to an SOS call center and initiating voice communication in case of an accident. Additionally, 'BMW Teleservices' allows for smooth maintenance by transmitting the status of vehicle consumables and fault conditions to the dealer, offering further peace of mind for daily drives.
Furthermore, the tailgate now comes standard with the Automatic Tailgate Operation, allowing for automatic opening and closing via the remote key or a button on the tailgate.
