Fuel Economy Improved Across All Models

TheParis Motor Showworld premierewas held in, and it made itsdomestic debutin January this year.fourth-generation Range Rover. The biggest change for the 2014 model is the introduction of the "3.0 V6 SUPERCHARGED VOGUE" to the lineup, replacing the entry-grade "5.0 V8 VOGUE" which previously featured a 5-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine.



This new grade is equipped with a 3-liter V6 supercharged engine featuring a high-pressure injection system and twin variable valve timing. It produces a maximum output of 340 ps at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 3,500 rpm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.



Additionally, all grades now come standard with the "Engine Stop/Start" function, which is an idling stop system. Compared to the "5.0 V8 SUPERCHARGED VOGUE" which has no engine changes, fuel economy in the JC08 mode has been dramatically improved from 5.3 km/l to 7.4 km/l.



Furthermore, driver assistance features that were first introduced in the2014 model of the Evoque, such as "Wade Sensing" which displays information when driving through water and warns if the wading limit is about to be exceeded, "Park Assist" for automatic parallel parking, and "Reverse Traffic Detection" which monitors the surroundings when backing out of parking spaces and issues an alert if there is a risk of collision, are now available as optional features, along with new color choices.



The 2014 Range Rover model will go on sale starting October 1st. Prices are 12.3 million yen for the "3.0 V6 SUPERCHARGED VOGUE" and 14.9 million yen for the "5.0 V8 SUPERCHARGED VOGUE." The "Autobiography," which also features the 5-liter V8 supercharged engine but is a 4-seater with luxurious appointments, is priced at 16.7 million yen.
