Enhanced Nighttime Safety and New Grade Introduced
Refined models have arrived for the Cadillac ATS, the brand's entry-level model that received the "2013 North American Car of the Year" award, and the Cadillac SRX Crossover, a mid-size luxury SUV. The ATS began sales on September 1st, with the SRX Crossover scheduled for release on October 5th.
While both models feature no major changes to their exterior or interior, they now come standard with practical safety devices to improve driving safety at night.
ATS Gains a Sporty New Grade
A new grade, the Cadillac "ATS Performance," has been added to the lineup. It incorporates numerous performance-oriented features, including sporty interior equipment such as sports aluminum pedals, magnesium paddle shifters, a sportier steering wheel with enlarged rim diameter, and a color head-up display. Additionally, it features performance suspension (Magnetic Ride Control), an LSD (Limited Slip Differential), and 18-inch machine-finished forged aluminum wheels with run-flat tires.
Consequently, the lineup now consists of "Luxury" and "Performance" grades, with the previous top-tier "Premium" grade being discontinued.
In addition to the standard AFL (Adaptive Forward Lighting) system, which optimizes light beam angle based on steering input and vehicle speed, all grades now feature "IntelliBeam," which automatically switches between high and low beams by detecting the headlights and taillights of other vehicles. This enhances safety during nighttime driving and reduces driver burden.
Furthermore, the front accessory lamps, previously an optional feature to improve visibility from other vehicles, are now standard on all grades. The interior rearview mirror has also been updated to a frameless type.
The new prices are 4.56 million yen for the Cadillac "ATS Luxury" and 4.86 million yen for the Cadillac "ATS Performance."
Cadillac SRX Crossover Also Updated
The stylish Cadillac SRX Crossover, which embodies Cadillac's "Art & Science" design philosophy, has also received changes similar to the Cadillac ATS.
The AFL (Adaptive Forward Lighting) system, which optimizes light beam angle for nighttime cornering based on speed and steering angle, previously standard on the "Premium" grade, is now newly equipped along with "IntelliBeam," which automatically switches between high and low beams.
The prices for the new models are 5.09 million yen for the Cadillac "SRX Crossover Luxury" and 6.35 million yen for the Cadillac "SRX Crossover Premium."
