As summer arrives, the Cinquecento leaves the road to race across the water—appearing on the waves at a California surf competition is Fiat's iconic '500' family.

In California Summer, Even Cars Want to Ride the Waves
At the "2013 Vans U.S. Open of Surfing" held in Huntington Beach, California, Fiat will unveil a watercraft modified from the Cinquecento.
Following its merger with Chrysler, Fiat made its re-entry into the American market with the 500. To promote this, the company is sponsoring the aforementioned competition and will feature a specially produced Fiat 500 Personal Watercraft at its opening.
Appearing are three models: the orange "500", the pearl white "500C", and the red "Abarth 500".500", the pearl white "500C", and the red "Abarth 500" models. These are not mere replicas; they are designed to appear as if a driver is at the helm.
These custom, waterborne Cinquecentos will glide across the Pacific waves on the opening day of the competition, delighting spectators. The lineup is currently expanding, with the "500L" also scheduled to appear.500L" also scheduled to appear.
