A compact SUV smaller than the Cayenne, finally.

Porsche stated, "With the completion of the new body paint shop at our Leipzig facility, this marks a significant step towards the production of the Porsche Macan. Test runs, with the first body painting, will likely begin as early as August. And according to the plan, the first vehicle will be completed in December."

For the Macan's production, Porsche has already invested 500 million euros (approximately 65.5 billion yen) in expanding the Leipzig plant, and the production of the Macan is expected to create 1,400 new jobs.

Information about this Macan remains limited.

It is smaller than the Cayenne,Audiand is believed to share its platform with theQ5.

While there are multiple possibilities for the powertrain, the 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine featured in the "Design Vision GTI," which previously appeared as a concept model based on the Volkswagen "Golf", is also thought to be intended for this Macan.Design Vision GTI" is also thought to be intended for this Macan.
