Land Rover's First Mild Hybrid Joins the Lineup

Debuted in 2011The "Evoque," which debuted in 2011 and has since become a pioneer in the globally popular luxury compact SUV category, has received its first full model change.

The exterior retains its signature sloping roofline and rising waistline, while the interior features the "Touch Pro Duo" infotainment system, comprising two 10-inch touchscreens.

New seat colors, Cloud and Deep Garnet, have been added. In addition to traditional leather, materials include Kvadrat premium textile, a highly durable wool blend, Dinamica® suede cloth made from recycled materials, and Eucalyptus mélange textile crafted from eucalyptus.

The chassis has been redesigned with the new PTA (Premium Transverse Architecture) to accommodate electrification, extending the wheelbase by 20mm. This increases rear-seat legroom and trunk space to a maximum of 1,383 liters, while also creating storage for tablets, bags, and water bottles.

The Hood "Disappears"

The powertrain options include a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine "D180," and three variants of the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine: "P200," "P250," and "P300." Additionally, the gasoline engine lineup features mild hybrid (MHEV) models, a first for Jaguar Land Rover.

The MHEV system is equipped with a 48V battery, a belt-integrated starter generator, and a converter. It stops the engine when decelerating to speeds below 17 km/h, stores the regenerative energy, and utilizes it as propulsion during acceleration. Land Rover claims this system enables quiet, efficient driving and improved fuel economy, especially at low speeds such as in traffic jams.

The "Clear Sight Ground View," a world-first safety feature, provides a 180-degree view of the area directly beneath the front of the vehicle, creating the illusion that the hood is not there.A technology unveiled by Land Rover in 2014This feature is particularly useful when driving over obstacles such as uneven median strips or off-road terrain.

Furthermore, the "Clear Sight Interior Rear View Camera" is also equipped for rearward visibility, projecting a 50-degree field of view onto the rearview mirror. Other new features for Land Rover include "Smart Settings," which uses AI algorithms to personalize settings based on the driver's preferences and habits.

Body color options include Norrïta Grey, exclusive to the "First Edition" model launching in 2020, and Seoul Pearl Silver, bringing the total to 13 colors.

Prices range from 5.23 million yen to 8.21 million yen for diesel engine models. Gasoline engine models range from 4.61 million yen to 7.99 million yen, while MHEV models are priced between 6.56 million yen and 8.01 million yen.
