The Laureus Foundation was established in 2000 through a joint initiative by Richemont, which owns numerous brands, and Daimler. It engages in social contribution activities through the power of sport, aiming to bring hope and a positive outlook to children worldwide. This special edition, bearing the "Laureus" name, has now been applied to the GLC.

The GLC, a mid-size SUV based on the C-Class, first arrived in Japan in 2016. Currently, it is offered with three powertrain options: diesel, gasoline, and plug-in hybrid. This special edition is based on the diesel-powered "GLC 220 d 4MATIC Sport." Its 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder diesel turbo engine produces a maximum output of 125 kW (170 ps) and a peak torque of 400 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior features the Night Package, incorporating black accents on the front grille, front spoiler, rear bumper, and roof rails. Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with exclusive 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels painted in gloss black, enhancing its sporty appearance.

The interior boasts Black Ash wood trim, a dedicated badge, and a panoramic sliding sunroof that creates an open cabin atmosphere. The "Burmester® Surround Sound System," featuring 13 high-performance speakers and a 9-channel amplifier, is also included, delivering high-fidelity audio.

Additionally, the "Mercedes me connect" telematics service is equipped. Beyond the standard eight body colors, Mohave Silver and Selenite Grey Magno have been added to the palette.

A limited run of 360 units will be available, with a price of 7.17 million yen.
