Equipped with Sequential Twin-Turbo for Low and High Speeds

The BMW 8 Series, the brand's top-tier luxury model, was revived last year after a 20-year hiatus. Previously only available with a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine, it now welcomes its first diesel engine model.

The diesel engine is a 3.0-liter inline-six, producing a maximum output of 235 kW (319 hp) and a peak torque of 680 Nm. By incorporating both a low-speed turbo with variable geometry and a high-speed turbo, it can generate substantial torque from low RPMs.

It also features BMW's "xDrive" all-wheel-drive system. Constantly monitoring road conditions and the drive status of all four wheels, it optimizes front-to-rear torque distribution in response to vehicle speed and steering input, contributing to stability during high-speed cruising and cornering.

Furthermore, both the Coupe and Cabriolet models are available with the M Sport package. These feature the more striking and aggressive M Technic Sport Package, including "20-inch M Light Alloy Wheels Y-spoke style 728M Jet Black with performance tires," large 19-inch M Sport brakes, and an M rear spoiler.

From summer 2019, these models will also be equipped with "Traffic Jam Assistant with Hands-off Function." This system reduces driver workload and enhances safety during traffic jams on highways. Additionally, standard driver assistance systems such as Active Cruise Control and Lane Change Warning, enhanced in accuracy and precision by high-performance three-lens cameras, a powerful processor, and radar, are included.

Pricing starts at 12.37 million yen for the Coupe and 13.60 million yen for the M Sport version. The Cabriolet is priced at 13.34 million yen, with the M Sport model at 14.43 million yen.
