Cadillac's New Compact Sedan, the CT5, Debuts


GM's Cadillac brand unveiled its new compact sedan, the CT5, at the New York Auto Show on April 19. A key feature is the introduction of Super Cruise, a semi-autonomous driver-assistance system that enables hands-free driving on highways, starting with the 2020 model year.

The Essence of American Luxury Sedan: The Cadillac CT5


The new CT5 measures 4,924mm in length, 1,883mm in width (including mirrors), and 1,452mm in height, with a long 2,947mm wheelbase. The exterior adopts a new fastback style. Two versions are available: the "Luxury Model" and the "Sport Model," allowing for customization with designs and trims to suit individual preferences. The interior features a trapezoidal 10-inch screen at its center, achieving advanced technology and superior quality.

The engine options include a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder twin-scroll turbo with a maximum output of 237ps (177kW) at 5,000rpm and a maximum torque of 350Nm at 1,500-4,000rpm, and a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo with a maximum output of 335ps (250kW) at 5,600rpm and a maximum torque of 400Nm at 2,400-4,400rpm. Both engines are equipped with a cylinder deactivation system, and the transmission is a 10-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available.
