Ferrari Unveils Latest One-Off Creation, the P80/C

Ferrari has unveiled the ultimate one-off model, the P80/C, created in response to the demands of a single client. This client is deeply knowledgeable about the world of Ferrari, a passionate Prancing Horse enthusiast for many years, and a Ferrari collector with considerable expertise and insight. The base model is the company's 488 GT3.

A Circuit-Only Model Inspired by the "330 P3/P4" and "Dino 206 S"

The P80/C was developed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, led by Flavio Manzoni, along with the engineering and aerodynamics teams. The client's brief was for a modern sports prototype inspired by the legendary "330 P3/P4" and the 1966 "Dino 206."

The styling centre took this directive and began development in 2015. The goal was not only to replicate the sensual form created by the tight cockpit and powerful fenders characteristic of the iconic models mentioned, but also to create a unique body design for a circuit-only car where performance is paramount, eschewing any slavish adherence to the past. To achieve this, extensive wind tunnel testing and meticulous analysis of performance parameters were undertaken, making the development period the longest for any Ferrari one-off model.

The base chassis selected was the long-wheelbase racing model "488 GT3" for its performance and dimensional characteristics.488 GTBThe chassis was subtly extended at the rear to emphasize the cab-forward design, a fundamental concept from the early stages of development. The wedge-shaped front features a catamaran-like form, and as this is not a road car, the historical headlights found on the 330 and Dino have been eliminated.

The cockpit, positioned between the prominent front and rear fenders, incorporates a wrap-around windscreen, a signature element of classic sports prototypes. The side windows are integrated with the body's side air intakes, adding a dynamic downward visual thrust to the flanks. Towards the rear of the cabin, an aerodynamic device inspired by the "T-wing" used in the 2017 F1 season is fitted, followed by a widened rear spoiler. The rear bumper, like the front, adopts a catamaran structure, boldly exposing the drivetrain. Beneath this, a massive rear diffuser is mounted, appearing almost detached from the main body.

At the client's request, two specifications are offered: a race-ready version equipped with 18-inch center-lock wheels and a large carbon diverter wing, and an exhibition package featuring 21-inch wheels and no aerodynamic devices. The all-carbon body is painted in a vibrant red named "Rosso Vero," except for parts with technical functions.

The interior, meanwhile, largely retains the configuration of the base vehicle, including the integrated roll cage. Only the dashboard side sections, seats, and door panels have been revised. Engine performance and vehicle price have not been disclosed.
