Golf Cabriolet Equipped with Navigation System as Standard

Volkswagen Group Japan has updated the "Golf Cabriolet" with features such as a rearview camera and began sales on Tuesday, March 19.

Full-Color Multifunction Indicator is Easier to See

The "Golf Cabriolet" inherits the open-roof sense of freedom and sporty looks, along with the Golf's fuel-efficient and high-performance powertrain, and a refined interior. It is equipped with a 1.4-liter TSI twin-charger engine that delivers a maximum output of 118kW (160ps) at 5,800rpm and a maximum torque of 240Nm (24.5kgm) at 1,500-4,000rpm. Combined with a 7-speed DSG transmission, it achieves a fuel economy of 15.5km/ℓ under the JC08 mode.

Volkswagen's focus on safety is also evident, with features specifically for open-top models. A rollover protection system that instantly deploys bars from behind the rear seats in case of a rollover, and airbags with head protection, are standard equipment.

The current update includes the standard fitment of the genuine navigation system "712SDCW," which features online traffic information search and allows for two years of free map updates, and the "Rear Assist" rearview camera, which aids visibility of the rear – often difficult in open-top models – on the navigation monitor.

Additionally, the multifunction indicator, located in the center of the instrument panel, which displays information such as time and fuel economy, and allows for various settings like window operations, now features a full-color display for improved readability.

The price has been increased by 230,000 yen to 4.23 million yen.
