The "MINI Paceman" will go on sale in Japan from March 2nd, "MINI Day." It will also debut in showrooms simultaneously, marking the fastest launch in the world for Japan.

The Paceman is essentially a 3-door version of the MINI Countryman. However, its defining characteristic is its coupe-like design, with a roofline that gently slopes towards the rear and a waistline that rises sharply. BMW refers to this as a Sports Activity Coupe, or "SAC." The taillights are a unique horizontal design, and the model name "PACEMAN" is emblazoned on the tailgate, a distinctive feature of the Paceman.

The interior features two independent rear seats and the "Center Rail" inherited from the Countryman, complete with ambient lighting. It also offers exclusive fabric seats or optional leather seats. The Paceman's appeal lies in its paradoxical worldview, a high-level fusion of design and functionality. Its target audience is individuals who appreciate and live with high-quality items that possess sophisticated design.



There are three model variations. All are equipped with a 1.6-liter engine based on BMW's Valvetronic variable valve management system. The "Cooper" features a naturally aspirated engine producing a maximum output of 90 kW (122 hp) at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 160 Nm at 4,250 rpm. The "Cooper S" is powered by a twin-scroll turbocharger, delivering a maximum output of 135 kW (184 hp) at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 240 Nm between 1,600-5,000 rpm. Furthermore, similar to the Countryman, the "Cooper S ALL 4" is available with a four-wheel-drive system. Both models offer a choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Cooper model comes with a 2-spoke leather steering wheel and 16-inch wheels with 205/60R16 tires. The Cooper S and Cooper S ALL 4 models are equipped as standard with a 3-spoke sport leather steering wheel, 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/55R17 tires, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), bi-xenon headlights, and white turn-signal lights. Pricing starts at ¥3.12 million for the Cooper MT, ¥3.25 million for the AT, ¥3.62 million for the Cooper S MT, ¥3.75 million for the AT, ¥3.83 million for the Cooper S ALL4 MT, and ¥3.96 million for the AT.
