A 550A Spyder and Three 356 Series Models to Race in Japan

Now in its 21st year, the "La Festa Mille Miglia" has been held annually since 1997. This classic car rally, which starts in Harajuku, Tokyo, and covers 1,600 km, is known as the only event in Asia officially recognized by the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA).

Porsche's participation is part of "70 Years of Porsche Sportscar," an event celebrating the 70th anniversary of the birth of Porsche sports cars, held worldwide this year. The four cars entered are the "356 1500 Speedster (No. 68)," "550A Spyder (No. 69)," "356A 1600S Coupe (No. 70)," and "356B 1600 Super 90 Coupe (No. 71)."



The drivers will be Toshiyuki Shichibe, President of Porsche Japan, in the 550A Spyder, and in the 2017356 1500 Speedster displayed at the Porsche booth at the Tokyo Motor ShowParis-based world-renowned pâtissier Sadaharu Aoki, himself a 356 owner, will drive the 356B 1600 Super 90 Coupe, while the museum director Achim Stegkal will pilot the 356A 1600S Coupe, paired with a German journalist.

This year's La Festa Mille Miglia starts from Harajuku on October 19th. The first day heads to Urabandai, the second day tours Fukushima and Yonezawa, and the third day passes through Nasu and Utsunomiya towards Narita. On the final day, the 22nd, the route goes through Ichinomiya and Sodegaura to Nihonbashi, and then returns to the starting point in Harajuku.
