Features "Virtual Windscreen" for Comfort in Open-Air Driving

As recently reported on OPENERS,Ferrari's latest sports cars, the single-seater "Monza SP1" and the two-seater "Monza SP2"were officially revealed at the opening of the Paris Salon, with more detailed information released.

The Monza SP1 and SP2 mark the debut of Ferrari's new "Icona" concept. They are inspired by the "166MM," born in 1948, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and was affectionately known by the nickname "barchetta," meaning small speed boat in Italian.

While the "barchetta" shares a similar form with a two-seater spider, its defining characteristic was the complete absence of a roof or weather equipment, covered instead by a detachable tonneau cover. The Monza SP1 and SP2 follow this concept. While evoking the image of Ferrari's past models, the extensive use of carbon fiber contributes to the creation of a futuristic and elegant form.

Meanwhile, to ensure aerodynamics are not compromised in these completely open-air sports cars without windscreens, they are equipped with a "Virtual Windscreen." This patented technology integrates the fairing in front of the instrument panel and steering wheel, suppressing noise and wind buffeting for a comfortable driving experience.

A new concept is employed for the taillights, integrating side and brake lights. This creates a single line flowing from the fenders and encircling the hood, giving the impression that the upper shell is independent.

The powertrain is a 6.5-liter V12 engine, directly derived from the "812 Superfast," hailed as "the fastest Ferrari ever." It is paired with a dual-clutch transmission. Both models achieve 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and a stopping distance from 100 km/h of 32 meters, matching the performance of the "812 Superfast." The wheels are 21-inch cast units, with wide tires measuring 275/30 at the front and 315/30 at the rear.

The Paris Salon is open to the public from Thursday, October 4th, and runs until Sunday, October 14th.
