Already, the next-generation model, also referred to as theGolf 7"Golf 7," has appeared in Europe. The "Golf R Cabriolet," the final model based on the "Golf 6" equivalent "Golf," will be added. Since the concept model was unveiled in 2011, there were no reports of it going into production, andrecently only a video was releasedleading to rumors and much anticipation for its follow-up.

The specifications for the "Golf R Cabriolet," which has finally been decided for production, are as follows: its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces a maximum output of 265 ps, driving the front wheels through a 6-speed DSG transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h.

The already releasedGolf Rgenerates a maximum output of 270 ps from the same engine (256 ps for the Japanese market due to summer heat countermeasures), and employs a four-wheel-drive system. In contrast, this model features a front-wheel-drive system, resulting in a 0.9-second increase in its 0-100 km/h acceleration time.

The gloss black grille features an "R" logo, complemented by gloss black door mirrors and gloss black brake calipers also bearing the "R" logo, exuding the sporty character unique to R models. The dual exhaust pipes, one on each side, are a distinctive feature of the R Cabriolet.

Inside, in addition to the "R" logo on the seats, the leather-wrapped steering wheel, handbrake grip, and shift lever feature grey stitching.

The soft top opens and closes via a switch on the center console, taking 9.5 seconds to open and 11 seconds to close. It can be operated while driving at speeds below 30 km/h.
