Peugeot's Urban Crossover

To respond to the global trend of urbanization and the generational shift among car owners, Peugeot has announced the market launch of the "2008," a crossover measuring just 4.16 meters in length. This new model inherits Peugeot's crossover DNA, driving pleasure, and stylish design, while offering the agile handling of a hot hatch and the versatility of an SUV, all within a compact size suitable for urban environments.

Production will take place in France, China, and Brazil, key markets for the vehicle.

Shared design elements with the 208 include the floating grille, which appears to be detached from the body, and the triple LED lines in the taillights resembling lion's claw marks. A distinctive feature of the 2008 is the metallic decorative element above the rear window that appears to cut into the roofline.

The engine lineup is expected to include 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter diesel engines, referred to as "e-HDi diesel," and a 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, which is also featured in the "Peugeot 208 Allure" available in Japan. The most environmentally friendly models are projected to achieve CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
