Performance Exceeding the S8

Joining the 'RS' line, Audi's most performance-oriented vehicles, is the latest 'Audi RS6 Avant', based on theA6 Avant'Audi A6 Avant'.

According to the details released by Audi, the engine is a 4-liter V8 that surpasses the performance of the AudiS8'. While the previous generation's 5-liter V10 engine in the second-generation 'RS6 Avant' produced 426kW (580ps) at 6,250-6,700 rpm and 650Nm of torque at 1,500-6,250 rpm, the new model delivers 412kW (560ps) and 700Nm, a decrease of 20ps in maximum output but an increase of 50Nm in peak torque. The 0-100km/h sprint is completed in 3.9 seconds, a significant improvement over the previous generation's 4.6 seconds. Top speed is 305 km/h.

Meanwhile, like the S8, the latest Audi V8 engine incorporates 'cylinder on demand' technology, which temporarily deactivates cylinders. This balances driving performance with environmental efficiency, achieving a fuel consumption of 9.8ℓ/100km, an improvement of approximately 40 percent over the previous generation.

The transmission is an 8-speed Tiptronic with shortened shift times. Lower gears are set for sporty performance, while the eighth gear is optimized for fuel economy. Naturally, the drive system is Audi's renowned 'quattro' all-wheel-drive system, which dynamically distributes torque between the front and rear axles.

This is the first time the 'RS6 Avant' features RS-specific tuned air suspension. An optional sports suspension is also available, comprising metal springs and three-way adjustable shock absorbers with 'Dynamic Ride Control'.

The wheels are 20 inches, with 21-inch options available. Brake disc diameters are 390mm at the front and 420mm at the rear. Exterior finishes, such as matte aluminum trim, black grilles, and a prominent roof spoiler, are characteristic of RS models.

The interior features a distinctive detail: door handles designed like two bars merged together, a motif inspired by a design used in past RS models. Carbon fiber panels are standard.

The leather and Alcantara seats bear the RS6 logo and feature diamond-shaped quilting. More luxurious Valcona leather seats with honeycomb quilting are also an option. The rear seat is standard for two occupants, with a three-occupant option. Like the 'A6 Avant', it offers an optional Bang & Olufsen sound system and a maximum luggage capacity of 1,680 liters.
