As previously reported by OPENERS, the "Range Rover SV Coupe," created to commemorate Land Rover's 70th anniversary, was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Range Rover SV Coupe pays homage to the original two-door model born in 1970, approximately 50 years ago, and was crafted by the Land Rover design team and Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). As customers can select their preferred body colors and interiors, it marks the first hand-assembled Range Rover.
The revealed body design inherits Range Rover's signature features, such as the iconic floating roof and uninterrupted waistline, while incorporating distinctive special elements like frameless window glass.
The body features all-new aluminum panels, including the front and rear bumpers, with the exception of the bonnet and lower tailgate. Additionally, the headlights utilize "Laser Supplementary High Beam," which boasts five times the illuminance of standard LEDs.
Interior seat colors can be selected individually, allowing for different colors on all seats or distinct colors for the front and rear. Furthermore, Land Rover has adopted "Nautica" for the first time, a combination of walnut and sycamore that evokes a sense of craftsmanship, available for door cases, the center console, and the instrument panel.
The powertrain is a 5.0-liter V8 supercharged gasoline engine producing a maximum output of 565ps and peak torque of 700Nm. Power is delivered to all four wheels through a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with a rotary drive selector and paddle shifters, achieving a top speed of 266 km/h and accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
The Range Rover SV Coupe also features a ride height 8mm lower than the standard Range Rover, balancing styling and performance. Above approximately 105 km/h, the vehicle automatically lowers its ride height by 15mm to enhance stability and improve fuel efficiency.
Eight body colors are available, including four new to the Range Rover lineup. Production is limited to 999 units worldwide, with pricing for Japan yet to be announced.
