Renault Captur Minor Change

Renault Japon announced that the compact SUV "Captur" has undergone a minor change and will be released on Thursday, March 8.

Equipped with "Extended Grip" to enhance off-road capability

The Renault compact SUV, born in 2014 with the theme "Explore," Capturhas received its first minor change.

The major changes this time include the adoption of LED lamps with a three-dimensional design, such as the C-shaped front LED lamps and taillamps, which are characteristic of the new generation Renault design, and LED fog lamps with cornering lamp function. It embodies Renault's new design language.

The interior features seat colors that match the roof color, creating a two-tone specification similar to the body color. The use of soft-touch materials on the dashboard also contributes to a refined interior space.

The powertrain remains unchanged: a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine producing a maximum output of 87 kW (118 ps) and a maximum torque of 250 Nm (20.9 kgm), paired with a 6-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch). However, it is now equipped with "Extended Grip" to enhance off-road capability. Drivers can select from three modes depending on road conditions: "Normal Mode," "Soft Ground Mode" which clears snow or mud by allowing the drive wheels to spin appropriately to ensure grip, and "Expert Mode" which allows for manual accelerator control without torque intervention.

All two-tone body colors are new. The grades consist of the entry-grade "Intense," equipped with fabric seats in the same color as the roof, and the "Intense Leather" with leather seats. The price for the Intense is 2,699,000 yen, and the Intense Leather is 2,799,000 yen.
