720ps Maximum Output, 0-100km/h in 2.85 Seconds, 340km/h Top Speed
The Ferrari "488 Pista" is the latest model in a special series of V8-powered cars that pursue performance and pure handling, following in the footsteps of the "360 Challenge Stradale," "430 Scuderia," and "458 Speciale." Its development is based on participation in FIA World Championships and 25 years of experience in Ferrari Challenge one-make racing. It was created with the aim of "providing perfect circuit-like performance in any situation, even when driven by non-professional drivers."
The 488 Pista measures 4,605mm in length, 1,975mm in width, and 1,206mm in height. In terms of weight reduction, alongside developments in the engine, vehicle dynamics, and aerodynamics, everything is derived from the racing models "488 GTE" and488 Challengethe latest model for the one-make series "488 Challenge," and has been finished at 1,280kg, a full 90kg lighter than the488 GTB" 488 GTB."
The powertrain is an evolution of the 3,902cc 90-degree V8 twin-turbo, which was selected as International Engine of the Year in 2016 and 2017. It produces a maximum output of 720ps at 8,000rpm and a maximum torque of 770Nm at 3,000rpm. Achieving a specific output of 185ps/liter, the top speed reaches 340km/h, with 0-100km/h acceleration in 2.85 seconds and 0-200km/h in 7.6 seconds. The engine sound, befitting a special model, offers a richer tone and greater impact than the 488 GTB across all gears and engine speeds.
The exterior design maximizes Ferrari's motorsport experience to deliver peak aerodynamic performance on the road. It features an F1-derived front S-duct and front diffuser, while the rear blown spoiler has been optimized for a taller, longer shape. These enhancements increase downforce by 20 percent compared to the 488 GTB.
The body color also evokes racing cars. This color, extending into the S-duct, emphasizes the compact berlinetta's form and is also reflected in the dolphin-tail rear spoiler. It not only creates a sense of agility but also contributes to improved efficiency.
On the vehicle dynamics front, all functions are designed to allow drivers to extract the full potential of the 488 Pista while also making it easy to control. The SSC 6.0 (Side Slip Control System 6.0) integrates all systems: E-Diff3, F1-Trac, SCM (Magnetorheological Suspension), and FDE (Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer).
The FDE, equipped for the first time, is the world's first function to adjust brake pressure at the calipers using Ferrari software. The cockpit also adopts a design that aligns with the functional aerodynamic concept, stripped down for a sporty feel. These elements allow all drivers, including professionals, to harness the car's full potential and experience exhilarating driving pleasure.
