Subtle Evolution Beyond the Numbers

The "NISSAN GT-R," Japan's representative sports car, evolves into the 2013 model.2011 Model2012 ModelFor the GT-R, which has already experienced evolution to the 2012 model, this latest advancement can be considered a "normal evolution." As a model dedicated to driving performance, it naturally sees an upgrade in its power output.

First, high-output injectors capable of more precise fuel injection control have been adopted. Additionally, an orifice (a device for measuring airflow) has been newly added to the turbocharger bypass, measuring the boost flow to control the turbocharger's pressure, enabling sustained acceleration in the high-rpm range. While these changes may not be reflected in numerical specifications, they manifest as improvements in feel and response.

Furthermore, a baffle plate has been added to the oil pan to suppress oil sloshing and surging even under sudden lateral G-forces, ensuring stable oil pressure during intense sports driving, such as on a circuit.

The evolution extends beyond the engine.

Looking at the chassis and body, further advancements are evident. The specifications of the suspension, shock absorbers, and front stabilizer have been revised, and body rigidity has been further enhanced with reinforcements added to the dash panel bar and instrument member.

In addition, minor changes have been made to the interior, enhancing its quality. The "Black edition" and "Premium edition" now come standard with a rearview monitor.
