Volkswagen Cross Touran Arrives

Volkswagen Group Japan is adding the "Cross Touran," a stylishly enhanced and well-equipped version of its best-selling imported minivan, the "Golf Touran." It will be released on Tuesday, November 20th.

Genuine Navigation System Also Standard

Based on the Golf, the "Golf Touran" is a compact minivan with a 2-3-2 seating configuration for seven passengers. Since its introduction to Japan in 2004, it has been a representative imported minivan, continuously updated while maintaining Volkswagen's signature driving feel and high comfort. In 2007, it was equipped with the TSI engine and the "DSG" dual-clutch transmission. This July, it also gained the "Driver Alert System." Furthermore, its strengths include comprehensive safety features such as cornering lights, the "ESP" stability control system, side airbags, and curtain airbags.

The "Cross Touran," now released in Japan, is based on the Golf Touran and features bi-xenon headlamps, front fog lamps, black side moldings, and dedicated bumpers and wheel arch extensions, with side skirts creating a black line around the lower body, enhancing its stylish appeal.

The overall height has increased by 10mm compared to the Golf Touran due to suspension modifications, and 17-inch alloy wheels are standard.

The interior comes standard with specially designed fabric seats, the genuine navigation system "712SDCW," the "Rear Assist" rearview camera, a multifunction leather steering wheel, paddle shifters, and a dual-zone fully automatic climate control system.

The powertrain is the same 1.4-liter TSI engine as the Golf Touran, paired with a 7-speed DSG to drive the front wheels. The JC08 mode fuel economy is 14.0 km/l. It is eligible for the 50% eco-car tax reduction.

The price is 3.48 million yen, an increase of 90,000 yen compared to the "Golf Touran TSI Highline." The optional electric panoramic sliding roof is priced at 147,000 yen, the same as for the Golf Touran.
