A Grade Positioned Between the "GT R" and "GT S"

The newly announced "GT C" is an exclusive model introduced with technology from the "GT R" racing model, which is road-legal, based on the "GT." It will be positioned between the "GT R" and "GT S."

The 4.0-liter V8 direct-injection twin-turbo engine features an aluminum crankcase and forged aluminum pistons, which achieve both lightweight construction and high strength, as well as lightweight technologies used in Mercedes-AMG's F1 machines. It produces a maximum output of 410 kW (557 hp) and a maximum torque of 680 Nm, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds.

The dual-clutch 7-speed automatic transmission offers three shift modes: "C (Comfort)," which prioritizes fuel efficiency and comfort; "S (Sport)"; and "S+ (Sport Plus)." Additionally, an "I (Individual)" mode allows for individual setting of various parameters, and a "Race mode" for circuit driving is also included.

The exterior incorporates the "AMG Panamericana grille," reminiscent of the "300 SL" that won the legendary Carrera Panamericana Mexico race in 1952.

The driver assistance systems come standard with the Radar Safety Package, which includes "Distance Pilot DISTRONIC." This system uses radar sensors to recognize the vehicle ahead, maintain an appropriate distance within the set speed range, and decelerate to a stop if the vehicle ahead stops.

Meanwhile, the "GT C Edition 50" special edition model, limited to 500 units worldwide, is available in two body colors: white and gray. The interior features a two-tone Nappa leather finish in silver pearl and black, with black chrome accents throughout the interior and exterior to create a sense of exclusivity. The headrests bear the "EDITION 50" logo, and a "EDITION 50" badge is illuminated on the lower part of the steering wheel.

The number of units for sale in Japan is only 12, with a price of 22.9 million yen. Deliveries for both the GT C and the Edition 50 are scheduled to begin sequentially from the first half of 2018.
