The Peugeot 5008 Reimagined: From Minivan to SUV
Peugeot Citroën Japan announced on Monday, September 25th, the full model change of the Peugeot "5008," launching it anew as an SUV.

Seven Independent Seats
It used to be a minivan.The previous "5008"The new model, reborn as an SUV with a completely renewed concept and design, inherits design cues from the "3008" which also underwent a full model change to an SUV and won European Car of the Year this year, while featuring seven independent seats.
The body dimensions are 4,640mm in length, 1,840mm (1,860mm for GT) in width, and 1,650mm in height. While the width and height are similar to the 3008, the wheelbase is extended by 165mm and the overall length by 190mm, creating a spacious interior.
The second-row seats are three independent seats, each offering 15cm of fore-and-aft slide and 5-stage recline. The luggage capacity is 762 liters when seating five people, and expands to an impressive 1,862 liters when the second-row seats are folded. Furthermore, the two third-row seats can be removed, revealing a 38-liter underfloor storage compartment.
The powertrain options include the "Allure" with a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine producing a maximum output of 121kW (165ps) and a maximum torque of 240Nm, and the "GT BlueHDi" with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel turbo engine delivering 133kW (180ps) and 400Nm. Both are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission (EAT6) and drive the front wheels.
Additionally, the "GT BlueHDi" is equipped with "Advanced Grip Control," which manages traction for various surfaces such as mud and snow, and comes with all-season mud & snow tires.
Safety features include standard equipment such as Active Safety Brake, Active Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Active Blind Spot Monitoring System. It also offers convenience features like a hands-free system that allows the electric tailgate to be opened and closed by moving your foot under the rear bumper.
Body colors include seven options, such as the new Emerald Crystal and Pyrite Beige, as well as Hurricane Grey available by special order. The price for the Allure is 4.04 million yen, and the GT BlueHDi is 4.54 million yen.
