The "World's Fastest" Station Wagon
The engine powering the two newly added station wagon models is the 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo "M177," assembled by hand by a single master craftsman in line with AMG's "One man-one engine" philosophy. Its basic design, including the "hot inside V" layout with two turbochargers positioned within the V-cylinder banks, is shared with the "M178" engine found in the company's super sports model,Mercedes-AMG GTwith the only difference being the switch from a dry-sump to a wet-sump lubrication system.
With a maximum output and torque of 571 PS/750 Nm for the E 63 4MATIC+ and 612 PS/850 N・m for the E 63 S 4MATIC+, both surpass their predecessors. Notably, the latter's official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.5 seconds positions it as the segment leader in performance, justifying the manufacturer's claim of it being the "world's fastest station wagon."
Despite this high output, fuel efficiency is enhanced by a cylinder deactivation system that idles cylinders 2, 3, 5, and 8 during low-load driving in "Comfort" mode, when engine speeds are between 1,000 and 3,250 rpm.
The transmission is the 9-speed automatic "AMG Speedshift MCT (Multi Clutch Technology)" with a wet multi-plate clutch instead of a torque converter. The latest "AMG 4MATIC+" all-wheel-drive system enables variable torque distribution, optimally allocating power to all four wheels (from 50:50 to 0:100 front/rear) under various conditions. The high-performance AMG S models also feature a "Drift Mode," which allows drivers to lock the car into a purely rear-wheel-drive state for enhanced control during track driving.
The suspension system utilizes the "AMG Ride Control Sport Suspension," based on the Air Body Control suspension, and an "electronically controlled continuously variable damping system" that adjusts each wheel's damping based on driving conditions. This setup accommodates a range of driving styles, from comfortable cruising to dynamic performance with high stability during high-speed cornering and braking.
The "S" model further enhances performance with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, an upgraded braking system, and a "RACE" mode that enables optimal acceleration from a standstill, ensuring readiness for more demanding driving scenarios.

The body features widened front fenders by 27mm to accommodate a wider track and larger wheels. The rear section has been specially designed to address noise and vibration from the rear, with reinforced underbody and additional sound insulation materials. Despite these enhancements, the practical aspects, such as the 1,820-liter maximum luggage capacity and the hands-free access automatic tailgate, remain unaffected.
In addition to the "E 63 4MATIC+" sedan with specifications similar to the station wagon version, a limited-edition "Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ Edition 1" based on the existing high-performance "E 63 S 4MATIC+" will be available until December 22nd.
This special model boasts a refined and sporty aesthetic, with a unified black theme inside and out. The exterior is finished in the exclusive "designo Night Black Magno," while the interior features a predominantly black color scheme accented with yellow details.
Pricing starts at 16.5 million yen for the "E 63 4MATIC+" sedan and 19.1 million yen for the "E 63 S 4MATIC+ Edition 1." The station wagon variants are priced at 16.86 million yen for the "E 63 4MATIC+ Station Wagon" and 18.38 million yen for the "E 63 S 4MATIC+ Station Wagon." All models are available only with left-hand drive. The AMG E 63 series, the top-tier E-Class models, now offers an even more compelling lineup with both standard and high-performance versions available for both sedan and station wagon body styles.
