Minor Improvements Made to GLC and GLC Coupe, Adding Telematics Functionality
On Tuesday, July 25th, Mercedes-Benz Japan began sales of the mid-size SUV "GLC" and "GLC Coupe" following minor improvements, including the addition of telematics functionality.

The SUV, based on the C-Class, which arrived in Japan last year, theGLC" and the crossover model combining coupe and SUV characteristics, which just debuted this year, theGLC Coupe" have undergone minor improvements.
The key change this time is the standard inclusion of the telematics function "Mercedes Me Connect." This Mercedes Me Connect primarily consists of two functions. The "Safety and Security Services" include automatic contact with the call center to dispatch firefighters in the event of an accident or when the SOS button inside the vehicle is pressed. Additionally, by simply pressing the B button, users can connect to the support center for touring assistance.
The "Convenience Services" include the ability to lock and unlock the vehicle doors via smartphone operation, as well as check the vehicle's status such as mileage, fuel level, and average fuel consumption. For the hybrid models, the "GLC 350 e" and "GLC 350 e Coupe," it is also possible to check the battery's charging status, set the air conditioning, and search for charging station locations and facility information through the app.
Furthermore, the "connected car" features have been enhanced, allowing users to listen to weather information and internet radio, and send destinations set in the smartphone app to the system via Bluetooth.
The "Safety and Security Services" are provided free of charge for up to 10 years, and the "Convenience Services" can be used free of charge for 3 years.
Both the GLC and GLC Coupe are available with four engine options: a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder direct-injection turbo, a 2.2-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel turbo, a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder direct-injection turbo hybrid with an electric motor, and a 3.0-liter V6 direct-injection turbo.
The GLC pricing starts at 6.02 million yen for the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder "GLC 200," 6.42 million yen for the "GLC 200 Sports," 6.33 million yen for the diesel turbo "GLC 220 d 4MATIC," 6.88 million yen for the "GLC 220 d 4MATIC Sports," 7.50 million yen for the leather specification model, 7.07 million yen for the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder "GLC 250 4MATIC Sports," 7.74 million yen for its leather specification model, 8.78 million yen for the hybrid "GLC 350 e 4MATIC Sports," and 8.78 million yen for the 3.0-liter V6 "AMG GLC 43 4MATIC."
For the GLC Coupe, pricing starts at 6.32 million yen for the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder "GLC 200 Coupe," 6.72 million yen for the "GLC 200 Sports Coupe," 7.18 million yen for the diesel turbo "GLC 220 d 4MATIC Coupe Sports," 7.80 million yen for its leather specification model, 8.04 million yen for the 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder leather specification "GLC 250 4MATIC Coupe Sports," 9.08 million yen for the hybrid "GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupe Sports," and 9.15 million yen for the 3.0-liter V6 "AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe."
